Sunrise on Vanha Porvoontie

Vanha Porvoontie road (Mäntsälä, Finland) on a winter morning. The yellow house on the right was built as a shop in the first half of the 20th century. It has also served as a bakery, bar, and a home supplies shop. At the time the picture was taken it was a real estate agency. Now the far end is home to a beauty salon and the other is empty.
The red building on the extreme right is the former Rajala bus garage that dates back to the 1920s. Today it is a shop selling picture- and window frames and anything related.
On the left there is a wing of the Säästökulma office and residential building from the mid-1980s. A beautiful old wooden building with the Väinölä hardware store and the old pharmacy was torn down to make way for it. I was just a kid at the time, but remember thinking that it was a shame to demolish that old house.
