She won design award not only this year, but in two prior years. She always insists on her cars being modeled after real cars. Her first year car (the red one on the left) is roughly based on a Ferrari 575. Her first award came for her Lamborghini Police Car (with working blue/red flashing light) based on a concept from her favorite GameCube game "Need For Speed--Hot Pursuit". Going "green" last year, she created a "solar car" (with a glow in the dark decal that says "Son Powered") modeled after the Stanford University 2005 competition solar car "Solstice". Interestingly enough, the "solar car" was the faster of her cars. It came in fourth overall in the final race.
